Every time I take my car to the mandatory Technical Vehicle Inspection (“ VTV”), I have this recurrent mental complaint: why should I do (and pay for) this every single year, while President Javier Milei’s administration hasn’t repaired any road or highway, in keeping with his State “restructuring process” referred to “chainsaw plan”? The State mustn’t be completely abolished, but should take care – among other basic needs – of road maintenance, in order to avoid accidents. The State budget for operating and maintaining national routes has dropped by almost 80 percent since President Milei took office in 2023. Where does our tax money go, I wonder? We should reread Henry David Thoreau’s “On Civil Disobedience”. Sigh …
