Artificial Intelligence shouldn’t, mustn’t kill live performances. Now more than ever we all crave flesh and blood artists, not holograms. Fortunately, in spite of our eternal economic crises, people keep going to the theatre in Argentina. The activity resists, against all odds. Buenos Aires is still one of the biggest theatrical scenes in the world. I live in La Plata, where our iconic «Teatro Municipal Coliseo Podestá» welcomes commercial companies on tour every weekend, bragging about “sold out” tickets more often than not. There’s also a rich “off-circuit” scene, smaller alternative spaces, which attract big audiences. I strongly believe we should all support art, in all its varieties – a universal and powerful antidote to the violent and chaotic world we’re living in.
