Among many other things, I believe this pandemic has pushed to the surface a far more serious “grieta” (crack), than the one that confronts “kirchnerists versus anti kirchnerists. It’s one thing to spend this unending quarantine in a decent home, with running water, heating and sewage, a place where its inhabitants are not crowded and eat at least twice a day, and quite another one to do so while living in a slum, with none of the above “benefits”. It’s one thing to have home learning if all or most of the kids in the house have their own computers, and quite another one if they live in vulnerable neighborhoods with no internet. These economic and social inequalities constitute the rampant proof of our historical internal debt. The naked truth. More naked than ever. And the virus is not to blame.
