Ok. Now it’s their turn. I wonder if they’ll start their administration complaining about “la herencia recibida” – the received heritage (something Mauricio Macri should have stressed way back in 2015, but failed to do so). Fortunately for all of us, there will be some kind of balance. The winners will have to compromise with the new opposition, which is quite healthy. Alberto Fernández sounds moderate. Let’s hope he isn’t a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They say an image is worth a thousand words. The photograph of Macri and Fernàndez shaking hands at the Pink House the day after the elections , is a clear sign of a civilized transition, at the antipodes of Cristina Kirchner’s attitude in 2015, when she refused to give her successor the presidential baton and sash, remember? Rude and sad, to say the least.
“Vox Populi, Vox Dei”. Fortunately, this is a democracy. Majority rule prevails. Let’s wait and see…
