There seems to be a historical curse on our presidents and their vice-presidents in Argentina. Starting from Sarmiento-Alsina onwards, this bad relationship has always been a constant. Victoria Villarruel has recently complained that she has the lowest salary in the government. “In short I get paid two chirolas,” she said. I wonder if she’s planning to quit, like Chacho Alvarez. Another episode of déjà-vu? It’s quite obvious that Villarruel and Milei don’t see eye to eye. Moreover, they seem to be on opposite sides. I still wonder why on earth she paid homage to Isabel Perón at the Senate? Isabelita, one of our worst Presidents, who happened to inherit the post after Perón’s death. It’s hard to figure out Villarruel’s strategy, if she has any. I’d like to remind our Vice President that, unfortunately, most retirees are paid “two chirolas” in Argentina – therefore her statement sounds quite offensive for those who can hardly make ends meet.
