When Cristina Fernández de Kirchner named Alberto Fernández as her presidential candidate, most Kirchnerites welcomed him warmly and praised her choice. He was considered a moderate candidate – well-trained, highly representative – who would carry out a good administration. Nowadays, those same people are swallowing their words. Furthermore, they deny having complimented him. Their hand-washing is shameless. They might even say they’ve never met him. They remind me of Pontius Pilate or of Peter’s denial of Jesus. Corruption, gender violence, intimate videos and photos, sex, drugs, sordid details of love affairs, you name it. We’re all expecting new daily chapters of this trashy series that keep us distracted from inflation, recession, crime and shameful Congressmen. Sigh…
