UK PM Boris Johnson steps down as Conservative leader. Among many other reasons, the so called “Partygate” triggered popular discontent. There were parties at Downing Street during the lockdown, while citizens were not allowed to leave their homes. Rings a bell, doesn’t it? Here we’ve called it “Olivos Gate”, in reference to our First Lady’s birthday party held at the President’s residence. At first they said it was “fake news”, but then they had to admit they had “made a mistake”. So they paid a fine and that was it. On top of that, the local crisis after Economy Minister Martín Guzmán’s sudden resignation is unfathomable. There’s no leadership, no plan, no strategy, no compass. We’re at a loss. The country has gone adrift due to this dreadful administration. The new Economy Minister, Silvina Batakis, has said: “The right to travel collides, or stresses, with the right to generate jobs”, while her son is away on a study trip in London. “Do what I say but not what I do”, applicable both to Batakis and Alberto Fernández.
