Last Sunday former Security Minister of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro, beat the ruling Peronism and will compete for the position of governor in September. He also surpassed Senator Carolina Losada, who had charged against him during the campaign: ‘To go against drug trafficking you have to have clean hands and not have dead people in the closet’. This internal rivalry and struggle (plus the one between Patricia Bullrich and Horacio Rodriguez Larreta) shifts our attention away from what’s really important: the crushing defeat of peronism, a very good omen for the millions of Argentines who are looking forward to a huge change. The opposition shouldn’t waste its energy, nor lose its main focus. If they do, many of us will be really disappointed.
