Last Wednesday, I watched Mario Pergolini’s talk show, “Otro Día Perdido”, as he interviewed Diego Kolankowsky, a very interesting self-made Argentine producer, born in La Matanza, who’ s just won two Tony Awards for shows on Broadway: Best Musical for “Maybe Happy Ending”, and Best Revival of a Musical for “ Sunset Boulevard.” Kolankowsky comes from a very poor family and never dreamt he would achieve so much. Driven by his relentless passion for show business, he has accomplished several box-office hits in the world’s theatre capital, against all odds. I believe his is a truly inspiring story. When there’s a will, there’s a way. Tenacity, hard work, perseverance, determination, resilience, steadfastness and ambition are essential if you want to reach a goal, however difficult it might seem. That’s why it’s interesting to listen to people who never gave up, in spite of obstacles and hindrances. They are stimulating and encouraging for the younger generations. Dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.
