When I first read the names, I thought they were the ones chosen for the new season of Master Chef on Telefe, or the cast of a 2026 summer comedy in Carlos Paz. But I was wrong, as usual. Virginia Gallardo, Jorge Porcel Jr, Karen Reichardt, Claudio ‘El Turco’ García, Larry de Clay, “Tronco” Figliuolo. among other local “celebrities,” form part of various lists of candidates and are more than willing to occupy a seat in the Chamber of Deputies. It goes without saying that having a university degree does not guarantee good performance, but I believe you need some sort of experience and training to enter the political arena, don’t you? Are these well-known people qualified for the job? Do they have the expertise, the skills, the ability to run for office? I doubt it. But you never know. In Argentina, anything goes…
